چکیده
This chapter examines the potential environmental impacts associated with denying a renewed operating license (OL) (i.e., the no-action alternative); the potential environmental impacts from electric generating sources other than renewal of the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant (HNP), Units 1 and 2 OLs; the potential impacts from instituting additional conservation measures to reduce the total demand for power; and the potential impacts from power imports. The impacts are evaluated using a three-level standard of significanceSMALL, MODERATE, or LARGEbased on Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) guidelines. These significance levels are as follows:
